Cycling the Bolivian Altiplano / La Paz to Oruro

After months of planning, I am finally off. I load my bicycle on the Teleferica in La Paz and take the thrilling ride up to El Alto.

From El Alto, I begin my bicycle touring journey towards the heart of the Altiplano, the city of Oruro.

Along the way, I slowly became acclimated to the altitude and could enjoy Altiplano's cycling and vast beauty.

I also spent the night in the small towns of Tolar and Konani, where I chewed cocoa leaves with the locals. Eventually, I arrived in Oruro. Easily my favorite Bolivian city so far.
