Tour of Bijouterie Georges Fouquet, Musée Carnavalet, Paris

Описание к видео Tour of Bijouterie Georges Fouquet, Musée Carnavalet, Paris

Georges Fouquet was one of the foremost jewelers of the art nouveau era. His shop in the Marais (3rd arr.) was designed by famous artist Alfons Mucha. Paris' interest in art nouveau didn't last long. Fortunately, the jewelry store's priceless interior was carefully dismantled and placed in storage. Years later it was found and reassembled and placed for public viewing at Musée Carnavalet in Paris.

Several Fouquet jewels, as well as jewels designed by Mucha, will be shown in my video from the Petit Palais.

Around 2019 there was an extensive renovation which continued through the Covid lockdowns. The exhibit was reopened by the time travel resumed after the total shutdown of tourism. As was typical for museums in Paris in October of 2021, everyone inside was required to wear masks. I believe I also had to show my proof of coronavirus vaccination, the EU "covid passport". There was no line to get in the museum and most parts of it were uncrowded. I understand that in the past, it would have been impossible to do such an extensive video in this room without having crowds of people constantly in frame.

Apologies for not pointing out all the different vegetal forms in the architectural detail. The floor mosaics and metalwork deserved more attention too. I was somewhat in awe at the time. And in any event I'm unskilled at identifying plants besides the most obvious ones and those that are most common in art nouveau, like poppies. And apologies for the non-zoom, non image stabilization, non super high rez video. Such was my technology only a few short years ago. The portrait mode, in retrospect, not sure whether that was the best choice. But remember you can always pinch zoom in YT.
