Amid the looming fears of being deported among citizens of Assam who have not been listed in the final draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC), Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh has assured there is “no need to worry” as “everyone will get fair chance to file claims.” “This is just the draft, and it is not the final NRC. Everyone will get a chance to claim. Even after the final NRC gets published, still people can approach the Foreigners Tribunal,” Rajnath Singh said. He added that no coercive action will be taken against anyone. The final draft of the NRC was released earlier today.
