The Shelix cutter head has allowed me to plane fight figured wood with zero tear out, worth every penny. I did a lot of research before I bought mine and didn’t see anything on scalloping. The video shows what scalloping is and where it shows up using a high gloss finish.

Scalloping can be prevented easily with sanding, a card scraper, or using your smoothing plane. Overall, if you use a high-gloss finish, you won’t be finish ready coming straight off the planer.

This is just a quick FYI, easily overcome, about an otherwise flawless cutter head.
