I've been giving myself and friends hand poke tattoos for about a year and a half now. I am by no means a professional but have found tools and tips that work best for me that I'm sharing with you. Please always be extra safe with handling a sharp needle and make sure to clean the area and your hands extra well.

• Supplies I Used •
1) Needles - I used a 3RL needle but you can order many different types of needles here: https://ebay.to/3iE4rh9 https://ebay.to/3NvUth2
2) Black Tattoo Ink: https://ebay.to/3hMn69r
3) Lucas' Pawpaw Ointment: https://ebay.to/3MceHv7

• Other Tips •
Sorry, forgot to mention how deep to put the needle in your skin once it has ink on it. Usually, you want the needle to go into your skin only 1mm-2mm. For me, I notice it's when the skin makes kind of a "pop" sound. Once I hear or feel that pop, I don't really go much deeper. It shouldn't really hurt too much. I've found that regular tattoos, like with a tattoo gun, hurt much worse. So if you're finding it hurts worse than that, you're going way too deep. Worst-case scenario, you don't go deep enough and the ink won't stick. Then the next time you do it just go slightly deeper.

Another tip to notice if you're going deep enough: Once you'd laid down some ink (meaning stuck yourself a few times) wipe away the excess ink. If you can still see the ink where you laid it down in your skin, then you're probably going deep enough. If you wipe the excess ink away and you can't see the ink you've laid down in your skin, then you're not going deep enough.

When it comes to inserting the needle into your arm, make sure you do it at an angle. If you go straight down, the ink won't go and stay into the skin. So make sure to do it at a slight angle.

Also, this was right when the Pandemic hit. Gloves were nowhere to be found or were desperately needed for hospitals. And yes the quarter was washed before - calm down.
