In 1995, Martin Marks was nominated for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year while the band, choir, and general music teacher at Healdton Public Schools in Healdton, Oklahoma. Nominees were required to submit videos of their work. This is Marty's submission.

That year, The Daily Oklahoman reported: "Martin Marks, band director at Healdton, teaches all kinds of music, vocal and instrumental. He also has been a band leader in Ardmore, Plainview, Pryor, and Mounds public schools and is director of the Oklahoma Army National Guard Band."

He is now Dr. Marks, and is the Director of Bands at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan.
