The latest customer driven development at DHVI is our C3 or “Combined Camera Caliper” tool where we are able to visually inspect and mechanically measure in 3-D any wellbore anomalies. This combination was absolutely paramount to our success in our latest inspection. The customer had called DHVI out for an On Arrival job due to a sudden pressure spike and release within the wellbore that made them suspicious! The C3 was deployed on E-Coil into the Horizontal section through numerous closed upper ports. It became very apparent what went on when the camera bumped into a partially dissolved ball in an open port. The caliper was then engaged on the same run to ascertain the ID for a casing patch and to determine if there was any further deformation within the wellbore. Thankfully it was just a port and the customer was able to set a casing patch the next trip and continue fracking the pad!
