Which Microsoft Office Integration is Best? - Remarkable 2 vs Kindle Scribe

Описание к видео Which Microsoft Office Integration is Best? - Remarkable 2 vs Kindle Scribe

These two devices have both recently got MS Office integrations, but which one is best?
Well as with most of these questions, it depends on your use case, stick around while I make that clear.

They are both simply one way. You can send to kindle, or send to remarkable, but it wont send back with the markups.
They are both sort of dictating a workflow. Draft in Office, send to your e-paper device to review, then make the edits on the desktop apps again. But there are other uses as we dive deeper into these integrations. So stick around.
Neither are true office apps, and to be fair that was not what Amazon promised, they simply stated that there would be an MS Office integration early in 2023. And there is.
Getting and using these integrations couldn't be easier. The send to kindle app will be just there if you are installed on a Microsoft 365 account. And the remarkable add in you can get from the files/get add ins menu on word and powerpoint. The first time you use them it asks you to sign in and then it just works.
If you want full office integration then you want Boox. You can use the full android apps with all of their features. And one thing I noticed in the recent update was that they have added a patch to make the dual instances of MS Office apps work with "Work Profile". You can find that in the settings/apps menu. Should be useful, more on that in a later video.
It makes you wonder who the Amazon Kindle Scribe team think their competition is. Kobo and remarkable probably, and they are perhaps right in terms of global sales. It seems that they are wanting to bring this device up to the level of functionality of the remarkable. But retain that kindle read-first mentality. It's still going to be primarily a reader and the remarkable primarily a note taker.
Will they try and match all the remarkable features? Text recognition, more advanced navigation, tagging maybe screen share?
Will they match the Kobo Elipsa 2 with advanced notebook features, and cloud services?
Or will they be content to give you some of what people are asking for and not lose the kindle identity as being the best value device, for accessing the best library of books and audiobooks.
