These eye exercises won't decrease your actual nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, but they can still improve your vision in a few ways.
Exercise 1: Pencil Push-Ups - this eye exercise is designed to improve convergence for those patients with convergence insufficiency. The exercise is more efficient in an eye doctor's with a vision therapy program, but is often given as an at-home exercise. This can help strengthen the eye muscles responsible for turning the eyes in to look at a near target.
Exercise 2: Near Far Focusing - this exercise works on accommodation, the focusing eye muscles. This can keep focusing flexible and strong.
Exercise 3: Blinking Exercises - Our blink rate decreases by 60% when we use digital devices. This decrease in blink rate causes the tears on the eyes to evaporate faster, leaving the surface of the eyes exposed to dry out. This leads to redness, inflammation, and possible blurry vision. Blinking exercises can help tone the eye muscles to help make complete blinks, keeping the surface of the eyes from drying out, and keeping the vision clear.
