REGIONAL AYURVEDA RESEARCH INSTITUTE ( RARI ) JAMMU SUCESSFULLY ORGANIZED THE QUARTERLY HINDI WORKSHOP CONCLUDED
Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Jammu, under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, successfully organized the quarterly Hindi workshop and the valedictory function of the Hindi Fortnight in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and dignity.
The program began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and invocation to Lord Dhanvantari, which brought a spiritual and cultural radiance to the event. Thereafter, Dr. Harbans Singh, Officer In-Charge and Research Officer (Ayurveda), delivered the presidential address, highlighting the importance of the Hindi language. He emphasized that Hindi is not just an official language but also a carrier of our culture and identity.
On this occasion, senior independent director and producer Mr. Manoj Gupta was present as the special guest. He has made several documentaries and meaningful films for Doordarshan Jammu & Kashmir, and his contribution to promoting the Hindi language among the masses has been remarkable. Dr. Harbans Singh honored him with a floral bouquet and a memento.
During the Hindi Fortnight, various competitions such as dictation, debate, essay writing, and antakshari were organized in the institute. Employees and officers participated enthusiastically. On the concluding day, winners were felicitated on stage by the guests. Shri Mahesh Kumar Saini won first place in the dictation competition, while Dr. Sumit Raina secured first prize in the debate competition, impressing everyone with his oratory skills.
Among the dignitaries seated on the dais were Dr. Aditya Shah, Research Officer (Ayurveda); Dr. Poonam Sharad Mohod, Research Officer (Ayurveda) and Hindi Officer; and Mrs. Talat Anjum, Research Officer (Botany). The program was effectively conducted by Dr. Pratiksha Sharma, and the vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Talat Anjum.
On this occasion, Dr. Poonam Sharad Mohod explained that events like the Hindi Fortnight not only encourage the use of the Hindi language among employees but also strengthen the sense of affinity and pride towards the official language.
The event concluded with the presentation of a book to the special guest and the collective singing of the National Anthem. The entire program reflected a beautiful blend of participation and cultural enthusiasm.
Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Jammu, is a premier center for holistic healthcare, where traditional Ayurvedic methods are integrated with modern diagnostic and therapeutic services. The institute provides comprehensive facilities to meet community health needs.
The Out-Patient Department (OPD) offers accessible consultations and treatments for various ailments, while the In-Patient Department (IPD) provides care for patients requiring long-term observation and treatment. The institute especially specializes in Panchakarma therapies—detoxification and rejuvenation procedures considered the foundation of Ayurveda—offering patients health benefits through personalized treatment plans.
The institute also runs a Ksharsutra OPD, where conditions such as fistula and hemorrhoids are treated through Ayurvedic medicated thread therapy. Additionally, the Geriatric OPD focuses on the special health needs of the elderly, aiming to improve their quality of life. For diagnostics, the institute is equipped with a pathology laboratory, ultrasound (USG), and X-ray services, aiding in accurate disease identification and continuous monitoring.
Importantly, the institute also functions as a Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre, where the safety and efficacy of Ayurvedic medicines used in patients are monitored to ensure quality and safe treatments.
RARI Jammu actively extends its services beyond its premises through various outreach and awareness programs. The Tribal Health Care Research Project (THCRP) specifically addresses the healthcare needs of tribal communities through research and targeted interventions to improve their access to health services and outcomes. The Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) aims to provide improved healthcare and nutrition to Scheduled Caste communities, thereby promoting social equity in healthcare delivery. Additionally, the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) project provides targeted health services and awareness programs to enhance the health and nutritional status of residential school students.
