February 22-23 2023, Winter Storm Olive dumped just over 12 inches of new white snow on our location in southeast South Dakota. Gusty winds blew that new snow into shockingly large drifts on top of the snow that has been with us since early December.

That ground most things to a halt here. The state shut down Interstates 90 and 29 and the county strongly advised no travel.

In this video we begin the process of cleaning up. We hope you will enjoy these shots taken in ~0 degree (Fahrenheit) weather. The white rooster tail is kind of pretty against the clear blue South Dakota sky that always appears after a proper winter storm.
