WORK INFO:

Title: "Post Lucem" (following the light)
Duration: approx. 12 minutes

Program notes:
"Post Lucem" (following the light) is a work inspired by the need to find one's own light and hope and is written during the
Covid19 pandemic and divided into two contrasting movements. The first movement, "Libera me" (Free me), it's
meditative, evoking funeral church bells, candlelight hypnosis, and intimate prayers. The second movement, "Ignis
fatuus" (Goblin fires), is inspired by the mystique behind this mysterious light phenomenon.
Throughout the work, there is a distorted Choral inspired by a fragment of the string quartet op.133 by Ludwig van
Beethoven, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his birth 2020.
The players are asked to play in special techniques, such as "Cyber Singing" (introduced 2010 in composer's
symphonic work "Cyborg").
In the "Cyber Singing" technique, the audio file prepared by the composer is played by the musician from his mobile
phone, a device commonly used for other purposes. It defines a new possibility of interaction between the composer
and the musician, attaining genuine communication itself. On this occasion, it is a distorted fragment of the
aforementioned Beethoven string quartet, as if a transfigured communication with the musicians were established
beyond time.
