Khanyisa has stumbled into the Jabulani Herd's Hearts

Mornings with Khanyisa and friends!

We decided to a similar routine as the day before, with Khanyisa having the entire herd to spend time within the land around the stables, and then headed out to forage in the bush with the first few elephants she met.

Khanyisa ran to Lundi, Bubi and Klaserie first, but as soon as they saw her, Tokwe and Lundi were rushing over to say good morning too. Bubi once again backing away in their presence, which is a little sad to see.

Timisa, the youngest of the herd, was showing greater interest in Khanyisa, and is still a little rough, and no doubt jealous, but becoming a little softer with Khanyisa each day. Timisa is an orphan too, and we will share more about her story very soon.

Limpopo is wholly smitten and seems fascinated with Khanyisa, smelling and touching her all the time, but this is also very overwhelming for the little calf, who often tries to walk away.

As they went on their walk (masks and all), little Khanyisa took a stumble, and the reaction of the herd was so heartwarming. They all rushed over to her, forming a protective circle. It was beautiful to see!

Shortly after, a herd of impala sprinted by, catching everyone's attention - it was good to be in the heart of nature with little Khanyisa.

After some healthy bush snacks and quality time with Lundi and Bubi and friends, it was time to head back to the stables. Another magical morning in the great company of such gentle giants.
