The neighborhood around the "Banganga tank" is the oldest inhabited region in Mumbai, a site of great spiritual significance, originated in non-other than the Ramayana thousands of years ago.

It is believed its water is as pure as the water of Ganga, the holiest of all rivers, hence it is used for purification rituals. For millennia, it has been a place of pilgrimage, as it is believed Sri Ram was there and created the water pond. Manish tells us more about it.
