The Boot is a commendable, lovable fourth, tucked away on a back street behind the Standard hotel. I first ended up drinking here after turning up to the Eurostar with a friend only to find out our tickets weren’t for some date in February, but for a whole month later. Knowing the general manager at our gaff wouldn’t let us have the extra time off, it was £72 wasted. Needless to say, we drowned our sorrows in the Boot, back when you could get a bit pissed for £15.
