is on par with the economic re-birth. Steps have been taken to increase foreign investment, including tax advantages and access to Portuguese residency.
The market has taken a positive turn, with an inrush of investments and upshoot in costs. In early 2019, home prices increased by 9.2%, while remaining some of the lowest in Europe. The average cost for an apartment in Lisbon is €3,500/sqm, compared to €13,000/sqm in Paris. Rental prices vary between €919 to €1,727 on average.
Due to a large number of tourists, investors can benefit from short-term rental and Airbnb market. Rental yields in the city center are 4.48% and 5.3% in the outskirts.
