AHUNA FESTIVAL
Ahuna is a traditional post-harvest festival of the Sumi Nagas. It is celebrated in thanksgiving for the season's harvest, and to invoke the spirits for good fortune in the New Year. The festival is marked with feasts.

Ahuna is celebrated in the purity of body and mind. It marks the end of rigorous plantation and nursing in the paddy fields, followed by sacrificial offerings practised by the forefathers.

The Sumis have two different clan heads, Swu(Sumi) and Tuku (Tukumi). The genes and rituals differ between Sumi and Tukumi. Among all other festivals and gennas, the Sumis in general accept the festival of Tuluni as the grandest and most important one. Uploaded from social media platforms.
