CNN PRODUCER NOTE ChrisMorrow covered the San Diego gay pride parade on July 22. The U.S. military allowed for military personal participating in the event to wear their uniforms during the parade. While covering the event she had the opportunity to speak to a variety of servicemen and women, and she says her most interesting interview was with the organizer of the event, who if the first person interviewed in her video. She says all the parade attendees and participants radiated with patriotic pride. 'I think the troops were proud to be marching in uniform and to be able to speak to the media about this,' she says. San Diego's gay pride parade features troops marching for first time in uniform.



"Today is a great day of Pride! San Diego Pride is honored to have the privilege of celebrating our country and our servicemembers with dignity and respect," said San Diego LGBT Pride Executive Director Dwayne Crenshaw. "The fight for equality is not over and it is not easy, but this is a giant leap in the right direction."
