Nope - you really don't.

The wide availability of cloud-based accounting packages means you can take care of your accounting function. And, when a business is new, many people do choose to DIY their accounts.

If you tune into my other videos, you'll learn loads of handy technical advice that will help you.

However, it's also essential to think about what an accountant CAN do for you.

Probably the most obvious one is to save you time. As a rule of thumb, a call to HMRC takes an hour. And that's assuming you can speak to the right person, ask the right questions, and understand what they tell you.

That's an hour (every time you call) you're not making money for your business!

By contrast, accountants speak their language, we are already registered as your agent, and we can get maximum results from each call we make on your behalf.

But let's go back a step.

Accountants know how to set your business up correctly from day one. Your mate at the pub might have told you to open a limited company - but they might not be correct. An accountant will ask carefully considered questions to establish which route works best for you.

And - we can tell your future. Actually, that's not entirely true.

But we can apply our professional expertise to the information you've given us to predict what you may, or may not, be able to do in the future.

Ultimately, you're the expert in your field. But we're the expert in ours. We are here to help you succeed, grow and prosper.
