Americans Celebrate Eid al-Adha in Pakistan 🇵🇰

Wow! We had no idea what to expect on Eid al-Adha in Pakistan. We kept trying to learn more about how this holiday is celebrated by asking the hotel staff and our taxi drivers. People told us to just walk around the city, and we would see people with goats. We thought maybe there would be a huge parade or festival in the streets. We were wrong.

This Eid is a time to come together as a family, sacrifice animals to feed everyone and pray together. After having coffee in the f6 district of Islamabad, we decided to take a family walk to the f7 district. Along the way, we were hoping to see anyone celebrating Eid al-Adha. We did! We found a kind family making a cow sacrifice, and they explained the whole process to us. It was amazing to learn how family members from all over the world come together for the multi-day celebration of Eid. Afterward, we went in search of our favorite Islamabad food: Cheese paratha! Most of the restaurants, shops, and malls were closed for Eid. We did find one place that was open. We ended this video with an early dinner at a super popular restaurant chain called Cheezious!

We had a great adventure in Pakistan! Thank you for joining us as we traveled through the Hunza Valley, hiked Fairy Meadows, played in the snow at the Pakistan-China border, ate lots of fruits and delicious foods, and explored the capital city of Islamabad.
