Apologise for the shaky camera and the brightness while filming.
Went to Evesham Fire Station Open Day yesterday, (07.09.2024). It was a cloudy day when i arrived at the station at 8:46am (08:46) after getting three trains to get me there. Evesham is a Day Crewed and On-Call station, home to two Scania Rescue Pump appliances, one of them is an Ultra Heavy Rescue Pump, one Scania Water Carrier and a Mercedes Sprinter Emergency Rescue Van with two Rescue boats for their Swift Water Rescue Team. There was also West Mercia Search and Rescue Team with their Water Response Unit, Rural Police unit and an Ambulance Incident Response Unit from H.A.R.T. (Hazardous Area Response Team). Other appliances from other stations also turned up for the open day to take part on the demonstrations. First of those to arrive is the Broadway crew at 9:26am (09:26), Second is Pershore 9:30am (09:30), Land Rover Defender with their Agrocat wild fire Unit from Malvern at 9:47am (09:47), Pebworth crew showed up at 9:48am (09:48), Droitwich Spa's Search and Rescue Dogs at 9:59am (09:59), a Recruitment van 10:01am (10:01) and ALP (Aerial Ladder Platform from Hereford at 10:05am (10:05). There's also a hot food and drinks trailer and ice cream van for the visitors, crews and staff. Had a good look round, got some good pan round videos of the yard and inside the bay with stalls like face painting, prevention team, drinks and a charity stall run by one of the fundraisers for the Fire Fighters Charity and good photos of the appliances, the equipment and one of the stands that has a history of the fire service, The Vale of Evesham Historical Society. The woman who runs the stand allows me to take some photos of the rules and information of the service's history and asks me to get the word out. The crews have done three out of four demonstrations, RTC (Road Traffic Collision) was the first run by Evesham On-Call crew at 11:35am (11:35). At the beginning of the demo, two more units from the Ambulance Incident Response Unit have arrived. Second demonstration at 12:10pm (12:10) is the Animal Rescue with Horse trapped in pity run by the Pershore crew and third demo is a House Fire with real fire and persons reported, two dummies and one live casualty run by the joint crews of Broadway and Pebworth. The fourth demo they were gonna do is the HazMat run by the second crew of Evesham, but unfortunately the turnout alarm has been sounded and they got called out to a Stand-By at Worcester at 12:35pm (12:35) while Worcester's crew are attended to a 6 to 8 Pump Derelict Building Fire at Kidderminster. At 1:45pm (13:45), there was another turnout alarm and this time Hereford's ALP has left to help out with the 8 Pump Fire. I've also managed to catch Pebworth crew leaving at 2:47pm (14:47) before the open day ended at 3pm (15:00) I've really enjoyed Evesham's Open Day, met some great people including those from my facebook group, it was great meeting you finally in person. Three out of four demos isn't bad and two turnouts is well worth to watch. Thank you to all Evesham crews, staffs and the neighbouring crews for a great day, It's really is the best open day i've visited this year and a special thank you to the woman for allowing me to take some photos of the fire service history.
