In September, 1963, Thomas Harrington Coach Builders announced an all-new motorcoach design called the Legionnaire. First built upon the 3-axle Bedford VAL chassis, it would soon be available on the Ford Thames 676 chassis, plus two that were built on the Guy Victory platform.

The Legionnaire was somewhat rare; only about 58 are known to have been built.

But, the Legionnaire's biggest claim to fame was its use in the 1969 movie "The Italian Job." For this, coach ALR 453B, new to Batten of London was used and extensively modified for the movie. After the movie, it was restored to being used as a coach, and was scrapped in 1990.

See and hear the story of the Harrington Legionnaire, one of the most famous motorcoaches in history!!!
