How to Crochet the Sides of a Basket

There's nothing better than a handmade basket! I love using them for storage, so special and beautiful! They're great for gift giving! This method for working the sides of your basket give a really nice braided edge and the perfect turn from the bottom to the sides!

Read your pattern carefully this turn can be made using any stitch. The instructions below are for working the turn when working a half double crochet.

Instructions:
You will be working around the top of each st.
Yo, insert your hook in the top of the 1st st from back to front.
Insert your hook in the top of the 2nd st from front to back.
Pull up a loop, being careful not to have tight tension.
Complete your hdc.
Continue working around the basket base in the same manner.
