On 30th November, 2014, Amit Shah, BJP president delievered a speech Near Victoria House, Kolkata. It is said that Mamata Banerjee's TMC had tried to keep him from getting the venue. He is said to have stopped his speech during the prayer from a 'shrine' nearby according to the Telegraph and the azan from Tipu Sultan mosque according to the Times of India. As usual, the newspapers used words copiously about the 'Muslim' supporters who flocked from places near and far to hear Shah's address.
I get terrified every time i see people giving ears to any exponent of fascism. Am glad i feel that way now because i live in constant fear of losing that ability.
This is a recording we made for the purpose of using in a short film. We had to get the azan from a mosque in Kolkata and i picked Tipu Sultan mosque. Let it be here now, i want to see what happens in some years,for all the muslim love that is being benevolently showered by the BJP on a nation clearly losing its sight.
