My Worst Hiking Trail Ever: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly - And Why I Bailed
Episode 2: A beautiful (but frustrating) day in the Tamar Valley AONB

Hello! and welcome 👋

Thanks for joining me for part 2 of my hiking trail vlogs from the Tamara Coast to Coast Way, a new 87-mile hiking trail along the Devon-Cornwall border. I

Day 2 was one of the best days on the trail but The Tamara Coast To Coast Way turned out to be the worst trail I ever hiked (relentless tarmac, no amenities and no views (especially after day 2).

I woke up feeling rested after a good night's wild camp in some woodland beside the river and then set off for a day's hike through the Tamar Valley AONB. It was such a peaceful day and I barely saw a soul - certainly no other hikers. It was a bit of a frustrating day though as I had to wait 3.5 hours for the tide to fall low enough to cross the River Tavy, then had an hour and a quarter wait for a train later in the day. By the time I got back on trail it was close to 5.30 and I was wondering where I was going to pitch my tent for the night…but then something amazing happened. However, my phone run out of battery at that point, so I'll have to tell you in part 3!

Thanks so much for being here and coming along with me, I really do appreciate it :) I hope you enjoyed it too. It would really help me out if you could ‘like and subscribe’, and if you click for notifications you won’t miss the next one in the series - which is when things start to go downhill!

I’d love to know if you’ve heard of this new trail (‘The Tamara Coast to Coast Way’ is a bit of a mouthful of a title isn't it?! I think I might just stick with the Tamara Way in future!) Is it a trail you’d think about hiking? (Maybe not after watching the rest of this series!). Come and ay hello in the comments 🙂

Until next time, happy hiking
Stephie x
