YARDSTICK – JOHN PEEL SESSION 1992

Описание к видео YARDSTICK – JOHN PEEL SESSION 1992

Yardstick, Cumbria, United Kingdom (1989 - 1993)
Yardstick formed in Cumbria, during the days of Thatcherite death-throes. They were apparently ''Cumbrian sludgecore pioneers sonically assaulting through a mushroom dopecloud of bowel loosening feedback...''
They released one album 'Self-Relaxation for the Insane' on SMR Records in 1992, had two unreleased singles (The Ladder/Bonesaw) on Sycophant Records and a split single with US band Dumpster Juice on Dementia Records (Silenced). The band split in 1993.
Members were: Kevin Young – vocals. Ian Lucy O'Hare – guitar, Grease - bass
Jim Harley – drums
This is their one and only John Peel Session recorded on 9th June 1992 and first transmitted on 3rd July 1992. The songs are 'Blind Eye', 'Brutal Deluxe', 'Double Zero' and 'Twenty Three/23'.
No one single complete recording of the whole 3rd July 1992 show has been made available and the session has been reconstructed using the first track from that show plus the other three songs from several other sources of the repeat of the session on 28th August 1992.
