Introducing the Rural-Urban Learning Hub

This video introduces the Rural-Urban Learning Hub, which brings together and presents the latest and best European research on rural-urban synergies in one place.

You’ll have access to a wide range of innovative research results presented in concise, easy-to-understand Guides that explore the different ways that rural and urban areas can better connect for mutual benefit.

Each Guide is designed to be a short, self-guided resource for local and regional leaders to learn about effective governance approaches to improve rural-urban synergies on diverse topics, like sustainable food systems, public infrastructure and social services, ecosystem services, culture, and new business models.

Rural-Urban Europe believes that we haven’t yet unlocked the full potential of rural areas, which are key for the long-term sustainability and well-being of our regions - and for meeting Europe’s ambitious goal to be the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. We have to consciously reconnect rural and urban areas to find what we call ”rural-urban synergies”, anchored by new ways of working together, mutually-beneficial policy and funding frameworks and shared innovations. The Rural-Urban Learning Hub will be the place to bring the best thinking and examples together for shared success.
