March 5, 1995 - In a lead-up to the 1995 postseason, MVP-to-be David Robinson hosted Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets, flexing the muscle that led the San Antonio Spurs to a 62-20 record and a No. 1 seed in the West. In a convincing 124-103 win, Robinson finished with 31 points (12-of-19), 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Olajuwon, for his part, finished with 25 points (11-of-24) and 6 rebounds in the loss.

The Spurs' wire-to-wire win showcased the team's potential when operating at full strength (i.e. when the on-again-off-again Dennis Rodman was fully engaged). Rodman finished with 27 rebounds and 6 assists.

These two teams would meet again two months later, a series best known for Hakeem Olajuwon's mythical dominance en route to a second consecutive Houston Rockets championship.
