In our inaugural ‘Epilepsy Research Institute Insights’ webinar, we hear from research experts and people with lived experience on the topic of capacity building the epilepsy research ecosystem.

There are an estimated 600 researchers currently working in epilepsy in the UK – less than 10% of the 6,100 researchers working in dementia. With a stronger network of epilepsy researchers, we can secure greater investment to drive research into epilepsy forward.  

Our fantastic guest speakers include:
Epilepsy Research Institute Trustee Abbie Fearon, who shares her experiences of living with epilepsy and the important work the Institute is doing to strengthen the epilepsy research ecosystem.
The Institute’s Capacity Building theme leads, Professor Torsten Baldeweg, Dr Sukhvir Wright and Dr James Mitchell, who discuss the aims of this research programme, why it’s important and the current work of the Capacity Building research team.

The Epilepsy Research Institute has launched a survey to assess the current capacity in epilepsy research and to gain a better understanding of the research environment. The survey is being carried out as part of the Institute’s Capacity Building strategic research theme.

The Institute wants to hear from:
• Researchers currently working in epilepsy
• Researchers who have previously worked in epilepsy
• Researchers or clinicians who have never worked in epilepsy
