Comparing the Rega P5 and Goldring Lenco GL-75 Record Players

I say it all really in the intro! The song is Lloyd Cole & The Commotions, Brand New Friend. The equipment is GL75/Goldring 1012 GX cart (2 steps down from the 1042)/Rega Luna amp and Rega P5/Goldring 1042/Rega Mira3 amp/Creek OBH-15 phono stage. Both used the Sony MiniDisk player to attenuate the levels and the waveform was normalised in software. Although the P5 is a more pimped up system, there is enough commonality to make a meaningful comparison, especially as the record played is exactly the same.

In the video I say that I can hear the differences on my cheapy but quite good Sony headphones, that is through the iMac output. Obviously a more advanced set up will reveal more of the differences.
