Описание к видео Casio Asked For My Opinion. Here It Is.

A few weeks ago, Casio reached out to ask for my opinion. I soon realized that I had been asked to answer questions in a survey which was likely sent to a lot of other folks so, of course, it wasn't as if they sought me out specifically. Still, this was a rare moment when they really were asking me for my thoughts, so I answered all of the survey questions and I saved screen shots of most of my interaction with the survey. In addition to telling you what I told Casio in response to their survey, I have some additional thoughts about what Casio has done lately and the newest watches they have been developing and promoting.

It certainly appears that Caiso has lost interest in the kinds of watches which attracted me when this YouTube channel was growing just a few years ago. Back then, I was thrilled to see a wide selection of watches with both Tough Solar and Multiband 6 technology at prices which rarely rose above $250, especially when I shopped carefully for discounts. Today, it seems that Casio's energy is firmly behind high-priced versions of otherwise affordable watches. I mean, I can buy a nice, resin G-Shock Square with Tough Solar, Multiband 6 and even a Bluetooth connection to Casio's smart phone apps for less than $200 and, usually, less than $150. But if I want a watch with exactly the same functions in an all-metal case and/or with various metal bracelets and/or as a limited edition model and/or part of the MRG line of G-Shocks watches, I can expect prices to start at $550 and go up to $4,000 or more. What? That's not the stuff which attracted me to Casio and it's not a temptation to start buying those watches now.

Meanwhile, Casio is also pouring a lot of energy into watches which cost less than $40 (and down closer to $20 if you shop carefully). What happened to the mid-range, highly functional watches which cost between $100 and $200? Yes, they still exist, but it almost seems as if Casio has lost interest in further developing and promoting them. That's disappointing. And how many more versions of the "Casioak" can they really make? I have two of them and that's enough for me.
