In this video, we discuss an important question raised by one of our patients from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, who was advised to have her fibroid removed before undergoing IVF treatment. This situation is common for many patients with fibroids who are planning to start IVF. Let's break down the key points and clarify when surgery is actually necessary and when it’s not.

Fibroid Location and 3D Imaging:
We explain how the location of the fibroid plays a crucial role in deciding whether or not surgery is required.
If the fibroid is located outside the uterine lining, and the 3D imaging shows no indentation of the uterine cavity, surgery may not be necessary.

Size of the Fibroid:
A fibroid less than 4 cm, especially one that does not affect the uterine cavity, usually does not need to be surgically removed before proceeding with IVF.
However, for larger fibroids, around 10 cm or more, removal might be necessary to avoid complications during IVF and pregnancy.

When Surgery is NOT Required:
For small fibroids that are not impacting the uterine cavity, patients can safely proceed with IVF without needing surgery.
Continuous monitoring of the fibroid during the IVF process is essential to ensure there are no complications later.

Understanding the IVF Process with Fibroids:
IVF can still be successful with smaller fibroids as long as they are carefully monitored.
Removing fibroids that are not impacting the uterus may not always be required and can help patients avoid unnecessary surgeries.
