There are many ways to train a machine learning model, from fully supervised learning to unsupervised. Active learning is a type of semi-supervised learning where the artificial intelligence algorithm can iteratively select which data it would like to learn from. Humans need to only label the selected data and not the entire dataset; this saves a ton of time and effort without sacrificing model quality.
