A diverse workforce brings different attributes to the table. The more we can attract people with different paths into manufacturing, the more it enriches the culture. The world is changing. The manufacturing industry is a safe, high-tech environment with opportunities for everybody. Who you hire and retain should be based on whether they match your values, share your mission and vision, and are the best people you can hire for a job. We need to help people know they are empowered to get involved and lead no matter what their position is. If you have different points of view on a particular problem set, you’re going to be much more valuable in delivering that mission. No matter who you are, you can see yourself in manufacturing.
