I know that you guys began, looking into the levels of soil at some of the parks back in July of 2023. Give us a brief summary of what was found at that time.

[Wade Walcutt (Durham Parks and Recreation Director)]:
Sure, at that time we received some reports from Duke University and we were very grateful for that information, that indicated there might be some higher than acceptable levels of lead in certain areas of our parks. So once that information became available, what we did was we wanted to build upon that science. So we hired some subject matter experts to come in and not only re-look at all the areas that Duke had looked at, but also expand that search. And so, that's what that group did. And at that time, we were able to find and confirm and have access to labs, what some of the readings were. And based upon that information, we were able to prohibit access to certain areas of the park until we just really learned more about it to keep everyone safe.
