Thrusting swords are great because thrust damage is effective (especially when paired with the Leo Ring), and their poking reach feels safe. It can be hard to hit moving targets without locking on sometimes, though. The first of the thrusting swords I'm running is Estoc.

I tried and failed this run a couple of times before I found one I was satisfied with, mostly because of how low the early game damage is. I also had to get used to the moveset, which took me a bit longer than other weapons, for some reason.
