Fernie Day 1: Exploring the Rolling Hills \\ Over 300 Riders!

The Fernie Snowmobile Association was putting on an event at the rolling Hills cabin. Mountain Toys out of Cochrane had a few new Polaris snowmobiles to demo and Avalanche Canada was putting on an education day. So we wanted to get off the beaten path and I knew of a area with really good snow but you had to do some fairly technical riding in the trees and you also had to drop down a really steep hill to access it. Once you're down there there's some really fun Meadows and drainages to explore. I've been in there a few times but with the overcast conditions and the fresh logging I couldn't exactly remember where we used to go. Once we dropped down into the area I had in mind I wasn’t exactly sure where to go. I had my 7S display on and I could see the main road but there were several creeks and steep drainages that I didn’t want to lead the riders in my group through. I knew that I could make it up the steep hill we made our way down but I wasn’t confident that the other two guys would be able to. Not going to lie, this made me pretty uncomfortable. Especially after how many stucks we had early into the ride, how many creeks we had to cross, and me not knowing exactly how to get to the main road. Enjoy the ride.
