The REFRESHED 2023 Lincoln Aviator!! Pure American Luxury SUV!

The all new second-gen Lincoln Aviator offers an attractive blend of style, comfort and performance. User’s get to experience the new luxurious and modern interior, which is decked out in the latest technologies and an outstanding sound system. Also, the performance upgrades in the all new 2023 Aviator is made even better when coupled to the optional plug-in hybrid system, whilst delivering decent fuel economy figures with it! But is it worth buying? Let's find out.

Ford has owned Lincoln since 1922, and has been their main luxury brand ever since. The Lincoln range has always been designed to rival against the best the Germans offer, along with the Japanese too. The company packs the Aviator lineup with plenty of technology features, and the top-spec Black Label models, even though pricey, deliver updated polished cabins with plenty of space for its wow factor.

The all new 2023 Lincoln Aviator's 400 horsepower twin-turbo V-6 is among the most powerful traditional engines in the mid-size luxury SUV segment. Also, its refined 3.0-liter V-6 works with a smooth-shifting 10-speed in the automatic transmission to give both serene cruising and authoritative speed.

Now, in place of a more powerful V-8 engine as an amazing option, Lincoln offers their new Aviator is a new plug-in-hybrid model known as the Aviator Grand Touring. And using the same V-6 as well as 10-speed transmission as the standard Aviator, also the Grand Touring adds in a 100-horsepower electric motor and a 13.6-kWh battery.

Moreover, the two propulsion sources add up for 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque, however, the refinement could be better, with occasional tweaks when the driveline reconnects the gas engine.

The battery for the 2023 Aviator allows the plug-in vehicle to cover about 18 miles in the Pure electric vehicle driving mode without using its gas engine. Still, the 100 horsepower motor is slow to accelerate the new 2023 Aviator's heft without help from the engine. Most users will use one of the alternative drive modes, that basically relies heavily on the V-6.

The all new 2023 Lincoln Aviator's braking and handling are less exemplary. Its brake pedal is overly soft, which makes smooth control difficult. The Aviator also feels big and wallowy when driving around turns and it does not give you much confidence in its stability.

Also, one other problem with the new Aviator is the transmission is clunky and also slow transition between forward and reverse. Now these issues mix up to make driving the Aviator less pleasing than experts expected.

The EPA has rated the rear-wheel-drive Lincoln Aviator at 18 mpg in the city as well as 26 mpg on the highway; the all-wheel-drive model gives 17 mpg in the city along with 24 mpg on the highway. Those numbers place the Aviator's fuel economy a bit behind that of all-wheel-drive competitors such as the XC90, the X5, and the Audi Q7.

A rear-wheel-drive non hybrid Aviator has managed a paltry 22 mpg on its 200-mile highway fuel-economy test route, and also the plug-in-hybrid all-wheel-drive Grand Touring model managed to give around 25 mpg in the same test however it only delivered 15 of its approximate 21 miles of electric range before giving up its gasoline engine in its test drive.

Lincoln offers the new Aviator in five trim levels: Standard, Grand Touring, Reserve, Black Label, as well as Black Label Grand Touring. It competes with the BMW X5, which also offers an amazing PHEV option, the Audi Q7, the Mercedes-Benz GLE, the excellent Lexus RX, the Genesis GV80, and the unique Jaguar F-Pace.

Also, the plug-in hybrid Grand Touring model offers an optional Illumination package now, which adds in adaptive pixel LED headlamps, unique LED daytime running lights, with an illuminated Lincoln logo in the grille, and LED fog lamps. Also, there are two new colors available which are named Diamond Red and Jewel Sandstone.

The Aviator reminds car experts and fans of a few Lincoln models of old: It's big, and heavy. Bumps are absorbed nicely, even though there can be a bit of residual body motion. The wind and traffic noise is minimal. Also, the highly adjustable seats are pretty comfortable once you dial them in. As for the climate control system, it does a great job of regulating cabin temperature.
