RS Drums is a business that I started with good-buddy Anup Sastry, & The Fairview Kit is our latest virtual instrument plugin.

All of the sounds in this video are from The Fairview Kit, & this is dang close to how the instrument sounds 'out of the box'. The only things added were a limiter for overall volume, & a tiny bit of parallel compression. That's it - no other plugins. Didn't even route out all of the sound sources to process them further - this is just a mix from the main stereo out of the plugin!

Additionally, HUGE shoutout to #Meinl Cymbals & Navene Koperweis! This track, 'MELODIK', was written by Navene. He wrote it for Meinl - it's one of the drum-less tracks they offer on their website! If you're so inclined, you can also download this track, write your own parts to it, & do a cover (or just jam to it!). It's incredibly rad that Meinl started offering these tracks, & even more so that they got such sick guys to write tracks for em'. So make sure to check em' out!

KIT SPECS ! Little different for this one (obviously!). I used my 2Box (both the kit & the module), & ran it via MIDI into the computer, & then loaded up Fairview. Another pretty rad thing you can do with this plugin - !

The 2Box itself - if you're familiar with them, you know that they're usually orange. I took the kit apart & did some nerdy-ness (🤣) - painted the whole thing black. Just seemed like it was a bit more 'me' aesthetically 🤣👌🏼. In addition to that, I took the original heads off, & replaced em' with #Evans db1 mesh heads. Wasn't sure it would work, but it did - quite well. Feels a lot better IMO, too!
