The robotic testing system 'roboTest R' is used to perform tensile and flexure tests on plastics fully automatically. A six-axis industrial robot is used to transport the specimens. By using two materials testing machines in one testing system, both tensile tests (e.g. ISO 527-2, ASTM D638) and flexure tests (e.g. ISO 178, ASTM D790) can be performed parallel.

In the cross-section measuring device, the thickness and width of the plastic specimens are measured exactly. This ensures reproducible test results. For manual testing, the robot arm can be moved into parking position. This gives the operator free access to the materials testing machines.
