Happy Birthday, Beniamino Gigli! In observance of the 125th anniversary of the great tenor's birth, Dead Tenors' Society is posting a series of rare performances. Here, Gigli sings "Spirto gentil" from Donizetti's La Favorita. This was recorded during a radio concert given by the tenor on October 13, 1949 in Brighton, England. He is accompanied at the piano by Ivor Newton.
