Mason-Mc-Bride explains what the Personal Injury Protection (PIP) portion of your Michigan no-fault auto insurance covers. This video also explains what you need to do with the new PIP election form if you choose Option 2 — Limited PIP coverage of $500,000 or Option 3 — Limited PIP coverage of $250,000.

Changes to Michigan auto insurance took effect in July 2020, and now Michigan drivers can select the PIP coverage limits they want.

As of July 2020, Michigan drivers may choose from the following PIP insurance options:
Option 1 — Keep Unlimited PIP Coverage (what all Michigan drivers had before no-fault reform)
Option 2 — Limited PIP Coverage of $500,000
Option 3 — Limited PIP Coverage of $250,000
Option 4 — Limited PIP Coverage of $250,000 (with some or all persons excluded from PIP medical)
Option 5 — Limited PIP Coverage of $50,000 (named insured is enrolled in Medicaid)
Option 6 — PIP Coverage Waived (named insured is enrolled in Medicare BOTH Parts A & B)
