This is my fingerstyle arrangement of 'Drag Racer' the theme tune from the BBC snooker.

I’m playing my 1952 Gibson J50, tuned to D G D G B E - with a capo at the second fret.

Most of this is no problem to play but the lead guitar section was pretty tricky to get up to tempo. Took a fair bit of practice, and then a fair few takes to get it right.

I remember being allowed to stay up late to watch Stephen Hendry beat Jimmy White in the 1992 World Championship final with my family. This music takes me right back there. That's why old tv themes are so special.

Drag Racer was originally written and recorded in 1976 by Doug Wood. He played all the instruments. The bass line is killer. I've tried to incorporate parts of the bass into my arrangement as well as the guitar.
