I've tried those big scrapers on a pole, but you tend to catch it on nails, slivers, plywood seams and more. And you never really know for sure how many you got out unless you get down there and look. Of course I started by using a flathead screwdriver, but those are a hassle if they're not super thin. Next I tried pliers, which seems to be the second best way I've found. Then I discovered the best, easiest and fastest way to remove those staples! Yep, I flat pry bar like you use to remove trim. I found that if you put it under the staple at an angle, so it's completely under the staple, you can just twist it a little and the staples pop right out! If you try to pry them out by pushing down on the pry bar, you're going to end up smashing your fingers most of the time. If you twist the pry bar, the staples will pop out as quickly as you can move across the floor! This is the FIRST how-to tip video I've ever posted, but I truly believe at least a few people will appreciate what I've found to work best, and once they try it, they'll be glad they watched my little video! After this video, I invested in a new pry bar so next time, things will be even easier and quicker!
