"Trefor Quarry (named after its original foreman Trevor Jones) opened in 1850 and was once the world's biggest granite quarry. The quarry ran for over 100 years before closing in 1963.

60 years later, the mountainside is still dominated by the ruins of the former crushing machine alongside other buildings and remnants of the past.

Recently, the location has been taken over by filming for the Game of Thrones spin off, House of the Dragon. Freezing rain and thick fog descended upon us as we headed up each level....but can we reach the top?"
