Is it OK to be “California Sober”?

Описание к видео Is it OK to be “California Sober”?

I read an article recently about a celebrity that describes herself as “California Sober.”

She sought treatment for ongoing issues with substance use, but once she left treatment, she didn’t eschew drugs and alcohol altogether. She avoids hard liquor or street drugs but continues to use marijuana and even drinks occasionally.

The concept of California Sober is gaining popularity, but is it a good choice for people in recovery?

In my opinion, California Sober is not only dangerous, it’s an insult to those individuals that are fighting to maintain true sobriety and recovery every day.

We have worked with countless individuals and families to break the cycle of substance use.

I have been by their side as they’ve spent hours upon hours and thousands of dollars getting their loved one into a lifesaving treatment program. I’ve seen the heartbreak when they’ve had to pick up their loved one from the emergency room, jail, or worse.

California Sober isn’t real.

There is no such thing as doing a little bit of drugs or drinking a little bit of alcohol when you’re in recovery. Abstaining from ALL drugs and alcohol is the only way to maintain true sobriety and recovery.

Lasting recovery is a lifelong journey.

If you or someone you love is struggling to maintain their sobriety, please call.
