4. SOUNDBITE (English) Elizabeth Emanuel, designer - on Diana's involvement with choosing design:
"It started by us going through the rails because we wanted her to try on different shapes to see which one she felt most comfortable in. And that's actually when she picked the dress, very, very similar to what you actually saw on the day. Certainly the silhouette. We picked that silhouette and then we started to go into more detail and came up with lots of sketches and ideas, you know, and it's sort of grew organically."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Elizabeth Emanuel, designer - on the final fitting:
"With Diana's wedding we did take into account the fact that it was going to be at St. Paul's which is absolutely massive, which was one of the reasons that we wanted to have a very long train and. Because that was the last thing that we actually saw - our studio was so small we could never really roll the train out to its full length and it was only when we went to Buckingham Palace in the last fitting that we could roll out the train and it was really long. I think it surprised us actually. We had to go into another corridor and block it off so nobody could come and see. It was the first time that we've actually seen the train fully extended and Diana in the dress really."

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Elizabeth Emanuel, designer - on Diana's dress and what Kate's might be like:
"The thing is, that dress really reflected the '80s and New Romance, you know, and at the time we didn't think it particularly reflective of the '80s. We didn't see it that way, it was just what we did. That's why it's quite interesting, you know, this time around, you know, to think of what is around. What are the fashions, what's the... What's going to be the element of this particular time that's going to appear in this dress? And it's probably more difficult to guess what it might be you know. It really could be anything. I think it's lovely the brides always try to want to make a statement and I think that's really important, you know, to be a little bit different. At the same time it's a royal wedding dress so there's certain things that have to be classic. I think, you know, it's part of history so it's very important that it's right. That's the thing. You really don't get a second chance with these kind of dresses, you know, you have to get it right."
