Malaysia - Strokes to Spokes - Bicycling Around the World

Описание к видео Malaysia - Strokes to Spokes - Bicycling Around the World

After an easy crossing of the northern border into Malaysia I made my way south. Midway down the length of the country I headed into the chaotic major city of Kuala Lumpur. Bicycling in the big city brought me to expressways and small alleys. Getting a GPS signal was challenging at times because of the tall buildings that surrounded me. Trying to depart the city kept me going in circle until I finally exited the vortex for a short ride for the day.

The food in Malaysia is top notch and I never wanted for a good meal. At the bottom of the country I bicycled to the southern most point on mainland Asia and then on to Singapore.

After suffering a stroke in Cambodia back in 2016 I decided I needed to increase my health so I turned to my favorite activity - bicycling. After two years of waiting, planning, watching YouTube videos and buying my equipment I headed out to explore the world on bicycle. Since March 2018 I have been riding most of the time, more on the tour than off, with a few delays from the worldwide delay that affected all of us starting in 2020.

I have toured through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and the United States so far. I think it will take me three stages to complete the US part of my bicycle tour which will take me to all 51 National Parks in the lower 48 states. I couldn’t find a good route that would allow me to ride it all in one shot with the seasonal temperature changes.
