This is our 4th song written in lockdown and one for our blues fans xx

‘Regrets of the Heart’

When this is all over, gonna lay down my shield
Raise a glass to the memories, our dice lost the deal
You are the heart of this woman, the love and the soul
But oh how times change honey, and oh how we roll

We burnt all our bridges and we turned out the light
Oh we fought and we quarrelled, through the day and the night
We broke us with weapons and words full of tears
Tore out the love and wasted good years

Now our love wonders lonely with nowhere to go
Oh we gave it our best shot, to the end of the show
So, don’t you call me to tell me you’re always my friend
Cos I learnt my lesson honey, yeah, and this is the end

Still the blues knows the answer, the reason and the rhyme
And the words we can’t sing honey, are the words lost in time
Now you are my last battle, my passion and my song
And there’s nothing to say no more, we’re broken, I’m done

So, goodbye to the laughter and I won’t dwell on the pain
Can’t look at your picture and I can’t smile in the rain
Got me years to remember, how the greatest love lasts
And together we know boy, the regrets of the heart…
