As the Roman Empire expanded, a problem within its army began to grow. It was food which sometimes was not nutritious because it wasn’t fresh. This problem was solved by dogs who would “drive” the livestock and march along them, so having such animals with them, food was prepared faster and it was always fresh. Without the help of these dogs the Roman expeditions wouldn’t have been so successful and this exact dogs turn out to be the ancestors of today's Rottweiler. Rotties, otherwise called with an affectionate tone, are one of the most popular dogs in the world. But besides being softies, Rottweilers are tough enough to work as guard dogs, police and military dogs and are considered one of the best herders in the world. Some even say that Rottweiler is an all in one dog as there is no work he can’t do. However, in some aspects, some dog breeds turn out to be better.
